A couple of announcements

1) Thank you very much for all the numerous abstract submissions! The scientific committee is at the moment evaluating the abstracts and reporting their decisions as soon as possible.

2) Although the abstract submission has ended, there is still time to register to the symposium till the end of February.

3) The symposium ends around noon on the 11th April, so that participants should be able to take the train at 14 towards Helsinki. We suggest that you do not book your departure flights before 19:00 from Helsinki.

4) Participants are encouraged to submit their work to Ornis Fennica, where will a special duck issue. Ornis Fennica is a peer-reviewed scientific journal, the articles of which are open access free of charge. The deadline for the manuscript submission will be 15 June. http://www.ornisfennica.org/

Student prizes in the symposium!

The Duck Specialist Group, DSG, is pleased to announce that two prizes will be presented to the best students during the symposium. The DSG student prize will be presented to the best student presentation, based on evaluation of the abstracts (clearly indicate you are a student on your abstract!) and the presentations during the conference.

In addition, thanks to the generous contribution of Tour du Valat, a second prize will be presented jointly by Tour du Valat and the DSG to the best presentation by a student from a Mediterranean country (i.e. whose affiliation is in a country bordering the Mediterranean Sea).

Prizes will be presented to the students during the conference banquet on 10 April.

Abstract submission and registration is now open!

You can now start to submit abstracts and register to the next Pan-European Duck Symposium! The deadline for abstract submission is 30 November 2014.

Note also that we have updated information concerning the plenary speakers (Robert Clark, David Koons and Markus Öst) and the program of the symposium. There will be for instance a workshop dealing with the Common Pochard.
